The semiconductor industry  is a strategic, fundamental, and leading industry that supports economic and social development, and innovation in the industry requires a large number of talent support. During this year‘s National People‘s Congress and National People‘s Congress sessions, Sun Huaqin, a representative of the National People‘s Congress and head of production management at SK Hynix, brought relevant suggestions on strengthening talent cultivation in the semiconductor industry.

According to Wuxi Daily, Sun Huaqin suggests accelerating the cultivation of a group of scarce talents, strengthening the research and development of key technologies and products, fully leveraging the regional advantageous industrial foundation and the technological strength of research institutes. Through deep integration between schools and enterprises, targeted talent incentive policies are introduced to achieve "attracting, educating, and retaining talents".

At the same time, Sun Huaqin also suggested strengthening the concept of technological power among young people, integrating the concept of technological power into the content of elementary and high school textbooks, promoting the spirit of scientists, and creating a strong atmosphere of innovation.

As a highland in the integrated circuit industry, Wuxi has formed a complete industrial cluster covering research and development, manufacturing, testing, design, equipment, applications, and services. Currently, SK Hynix has become the foreign-invested enterprise with the largest single investment scale, highest technological level, and fastest development speed in Jiangsu Province. In 2022, the two sides signed a deep strategic cooperation agreement, initiating a new round of highly deepened cooperation.

Sun Huaqin hopes that the new spirit and measures of the two sessions can accelerate the promotion of industrial basic capabilities and key technical equipment research, strengthen talent cultivation, and assist in high-quality development of the industry.
