Hanyin Electromechanical SiC Project
Annual production of 200000 SiC epitaxial wafers
On May 22nd, the Yandu District People‘s Government of Yancheng City reported that Hanyin Electromechanical invested another 1 billion yuan in 2022 to launch the Hanyin Semiconductor Equipment Project, adding 40 sets of third-generation semiconductor carbon epitaxial equipment, capable of producing 200000 silicon carbide epitaxial wafers annually. This project breaks through the bottleneck technology of silicon carbide epitaxial equipment and fills the gap in mass production of epitaxial wafers with domestic equipment.
In 2022, the overall sales revenue of Hanyin Electromechanical was 120 million yuan. Chairman Wen Cheng of the company stated that they invest 13% of their sales revenue in research and development every year, constantly breaking through the technical barriers of high-end equipment and new materials. The "A6MAXPCB character spray printing fully automatic production line" developed and produced has been recognized as the first major equipment in the province.http://www.ic-bom.com/
According to the Yancheng Radio and Television All Media News Center in April this year, Hanyin Electromechanical has added silicon carbide epitaxial equipment and projects, which will usher in new growth points.
It is reported that Hanyin Electromechanical has conducted in-depth cooperation with multiple universities such as the Institute of Semiconductors of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the School of Chemical Engineering of Tsinghua University, and has carried out a series of plans such as industrial SiC equipment development.
Star Semiconductor
Signing of SiC project at vehicle level
According to the official WeChat account of "Western Chongqing Science City", on May 18th, the signing ceremony of the Central Local Cooperation and Key Projects of the Western China International Investment and Trade Fair was held. At the meeting, there were a total of 6 signed projects in the Western (Chongqing) Science City, with a total investment of 27.3 billion yuan, including the Chongqing Automotive Grade Module Production Base project of Star Semiconductor.
According to reports, Star Semiconductor Chongqing Automotive Grade Module Production Base has been signed as a key project to invest in the construction of a vehicle grade module production base in Science City, achieving the research and development, production, and sales of high-power automotive grade IGBT modules and automotive grade silicon carbide MOSFET modules for the main controller.
Moreover, prior to this, the official website of the State Administration for Market Regulation released a public announcement on March 31st regarding the establishment of a new joint venture between Jiaxing Star Semiconductor Co., Ltd. and Chongqing Chang‘an New Energy Vehicle Technology Co., Ltd. According to the announcement, both parties plan to establish a new joint venture, mainly engaged in the research, production, and sales of application technology for automotive power semiconductor modules.
KEC or invest 50 million
Continuously increasing SiC
On May 25th, according to Korean media reports, South Korean KEC company is seeking Taiwanese and Japanese companies with large-scale SiC production lines and plans to reach a commercial agreement with them, with the goal of accelerating the development of SiC MOSFETs.
According to the report, KEC has been collaborating with Busan Science and Technology Park since 2017 to jointly carry out a national project to ensure SiC technology. Recently, both parties have renewed their contracts to expand development capabilities, stabilize process operations, and accelerate product development.http://www.ic-bom.com/
